Passwords and Google Sign-In

You can sign in to PolitiFast two ways — email + password, or your Google account — and you can use both on the same account. Here's how each works and how to switch between them.

Changing your password

Under Settings → Security, click the change-password button. You'll be redirected to a secure hosted page to set the new password, then returned to your settings automatically. Passwords never pass through PolitiFast pages directly — that's deliberate.

Pick something long: twelve characters or more. A passphrase like "oak-river-summit-42!" is easier to remember and harder to guess than something short and clever.

Linking your Google account

Also under Settings → Security: connect your Google account and from then on you can sign in with one click. You'll see "Connected — you can sign in with Google" when it's active. Unlink anytime from the same place.

Signed up with Google but want a password?

Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page with your account email — completing that flow sets a password on your account. Both methods then work.

Signed up with a password but prefer Google?

Link Google under Settings → Security (the Google account must use the same email address). Your password keeps working as a backup.

One account, one person

Every teammate should have their own login — invite them through your campaign's Team page rather than sharing credentials. Shared passwords can't be revoked for one person and wreck your audit trail.
