Digital Advertising: How It Works

Our team plans, builds, and manages your digital ads — your job is the intake, creative approval, and watching the dashboard.

Digital advertising on PolitiFast is fully managed: our team plans the campaign, builds the creative, launches it, and optimizes it through the flight. You never touch an ad platform — your role is three things: submit the intake, approve the creatives, and watch the results.

The flow

  1. Enroll and submit intake. Add Digital Ads from your Services page and complete the intake — budget range, target geography, goals, and any creative direction.
  2. We propose a plan. Your team comes back with targeting, channels, timing, and creative scope. Ad design runs $150 for 3 sizes or $250 for 6 sizes; media budgets are quoted as part of the plan.
  3. You approve creatives. Every ad goes through your review — nothing launches without your sign-off (see Reviewing and Approving Ad Creatives in this category).
  4. We launch and manage. The team runs the flight, monitors pacing, and optimizes.
  5. You watch the dashboard. Performance reports live in your Ads workspace.

The two main ad types, in one sentence each

  • Display ads put your banner in front of targeted voters as they browse websites and apps.
  • Geofenced ads target devices seen inside a drawn geographic boundary — a county, a precinct, even an event venue.

Reading your dashboard

The dashboard shows impressions (times your ad was displayed), spend pacing against the plan, and results over time. Early in a flight, expect impressions to ramp as optimization settles; what matters is the trend across the flight, not any single day. Your team reviews the same numbers and will flag anything that needs a decision.

Why ads pair well with everything else

Ads work best when they echo what voters see elsewhere — same look, same message as your website, texts, and mail. That's why ad creative pulls from the same Files hub and brand assets as the rest of your program.

What happens next

From completed intake to first flight is typically about a week: plan within days, creative and approval after that, then launch.
