Requesting a Mailer Design

What to provide for a great mailer design, how the $150 flat fee and two revision rounds work, and what happens after approval.

Last updated 08/05/26

A mailer design order puts our design team to work on your piece: $150 flat, two revision rounds included, typically ready in about 48 hours. Here's how to brief it so the first proof is nearly the final one.

What to provide

  • The one thing this mailer must say. A mailer earns about three seconds of attention — one message, one ask. "Early voting starts Monday" beats a résumé.
  • Copy mode. Provide the wording yourself, or choose to have PolitiFast write it from your brief and platform.
  • Photos and logo. The designer pulls from your Files hub — make sure your best photos and final logo are uploaded (see Uploading Files under Managing Your Campaign).
  • Disclaimer text. Your "Paid for by" attribution line, required on political mail.
  • Anything structural. Size preference, must-include endorsements, a QR code target.

The $150 and the two rounds

The flat fee covers the design and two rounds of revisions. To make them count, consolidate feedback: review the whole proof, collect every stakeholder's notes, and send one complete change list per round. Specific notes ("swap the headline for X, use the barn photo, fix the ZIP") produce a final-ready second proof.

Reviewing your proof

The proof arrives in your Design Inbox (see Reviewing Designs under Managing Your Campaign). Approve it or request a revision from there.

After approval

A Mail This Design button appears on the approved piece. Click it to start the mail order — recipient list, quantity, confirmed per-piece rate, invoice, print. The design itself is yours; you can mail it as many times as you like.
