Direct Mail: How It Works
Design a mailer for $150 flat, approve it, and mail it to your list — the full flow from idea to mailboxes.
Last updated 08/05/26
Direct mail still wins races — it reaches every household, it doesn't depend on anyone opening an app, and older high-propensity voters read it. PolitiFast makes it a two-step flow you run entirely from your portal: design, then mail.
The two orders
Both live under your campaign's Order Work button:
- Request Mailer Design — our team designs your piece from your brief, copy, photos, and logo. $150 flat, including two revision rounds, typically ready in about 48 hours.
- Send a Mailer — mail an approved design to your list. Billed per piece, with the rate confirmed on your invoice after design approval and before you pay anything.
The flow, end to end
- Order a design (or supply your own artwork when you order a send).
- Review the proof in your Design Inbox — approve it or request a revision.
- Click Mail This Design on the approved piece (or order Send a Mailer directly).
- Upload your recipient list and set the quantity.
- We confirm the per-piece rate; the invoice appears in Billing.
- You pay; we print and mail.
Sizes and format
The standard piece is a 6×11 mailer — big enough to command attention on a kitchen counter — and every piece is printed two-sided. Other sizes are available; pick what fits when you order.
Your words or ours
When ordering a design you choose: provide the wording yourself, or have PolitiFast write it from your platform and brief. Either way your "Paid for by" disclaimer goes on the piece — political mail requires it.
What happens next
Design in ~48 hours, revisions as needed, then print and postal delivery after payment. Plan roughly a week and a half from first order to mailboxes, longer for large drops — build that into your calendar for date-sensitive mail like early-voting reminders.
Start with the design
A mailer design is $150 flat with two revision rounds — order it now and mail whenever you're ready.
