Where Are My Contact Lists?

Upload lists on your campaign's Messages page, view them read-only on Audiences — and yes, the Lists page saying "managed by PolitiFast" is expected.

Contact lists live in two places in the portal, and one page about them confuses almost everyone at least once. Here is the map.

Where to upload

Upload your voter and supporter lists on your campaign's Messages page. We accept CSV, XLS, and XLSX files. This is the one place in the portal where you add contacts — everything else reads from what you upload there.

Where to view

The Audiences page shows the lists attached to your campaign — how many contacts they contain and who they are. It is read-only: you can review your audiences there, but edits and new uploads happen back on the Messages page.

Why the Lists page says "managed by PolitiFast"

If you open the Lists page you will see a note that your lists are managed by PolitiFast. That is expected, not an error. Once you upload a list, our team maintains it for you — deduplicating contacts, formatting phone numbers for the carriers, and automatically excluding anyone who replies STOP so you never text someone who opted out. Keeping that maintenance on our side is part of what keeps your carrier registration in good standing.

What PolitiFast is not

PolitiFast is not a general-purpose CRM. You will not find donor pipelines, custom fields, or contact-by-contact editing here — the platform is built to get your lists uploaded cleanly and your messages delivered compliantly. If you manage contacts in another tool, keep doing that and export a fresh file to the Messages page whenever you want to send.

Lists uploaded? Put them to work.

Your next step is a text message — open your campaign in the portal and submit your first send to the voters you just uploaded.
