Your Voter Contact Plan
The Voter Contact Plan is the strategy document your PolitiFast team builds for your race — what it contains and how changes get made.
Last updated 08/05/26
The Voter Contact Plan page in your campaign workspace holds the strategy document your PolitiFast team builds for your race. Think of it as the master calendar and budget for reaching voters — every text send, mailer, and ad flight should trace back to a line in this plan.

What's in the plan
- Plan window — the date range the plan covers, usually from now through Election Day.
- Primary universe — the set of voters the plan targets, sized from the voter file.
- Starting budget — the voter-contact dollars the plan allocates.
- Dated line items — each planned touch (a text send, a mail drop, an ad flight) with its date, audience, and estimated cost.
- Budget stats — your starting account, estimated costs deployed so far, and the reserve kept flexible for late developments.
Why it's read-only
The plan page is a view, not an editor — deliberately. A voter contact plan only works when it stays coherent: audiences sequenced, budget balanced, timing coordinated. Changes go through your strategist, who adjusts the plan as a whole rather than one line at a time.
How to request a change
Email your PolitiFast team or raise it on your next call. Common changes — moving a send date, adding a mail drop after a strong fundraising week, shifting budget between channels — are quick to make once we understand the goal.
If your plan page is empty
You don't have a plan yet. Plans are built as part of consulting engagements or when the team maps your voter-contact program during setup.

A consulting engagement typically starts by building your Voter Contact Plan — the roadmap every send, mailer, and ad hangs off of.
