Downloading Your Texting Report

Two one-click PDFs — a full-campaign performance report and a report for any single send — plus what every number on them means.

Last updated 09/18/26

Your portal turns every text send into a report you can hand to a consultant, a treasurer, or a finance committee — no spreadsheet work required. There are two of them: one covering your whole campaign, and one for a single send.

The campaign report

This is the Texting Performance Report — every send your campaign has made, in one PDF.

To get it: open your campaign, go to Texting, find the Performance card and click View analytics. The Download PDF button sits at the top right of that page.

Inside, in order:

  • The top line — messages attempted, delivered, delivery rate, response rate, and total spend.
  • Delivery — where every recipient ended up: delivered, failed, unconfirmed, skipped, or still pending. It also shows how many sends you've made, how many unique people you reached, and how many recipients were skipped because they had opted out earlier.
  • Engagement — how many people texted back, how many messages they sent, your response rate, how fast the first replies arrived, the tone of the replies, and a bar chart of replies by hour of day in your campaign's own timezone.
  • Contact tags — how your contacts are tagged: Voting For, Voting Against, Moved, your own custom tags, and not yet tagged. On the campaign report the percentages are of everyone on your list, not just the people who replied, so "not yet tagged" mostly means "hasn't replied yet."
  • Opt-outs and compliance — how many people replied STOP, your opt-out rate, and a list of the reasons messages failed with a count for each.
  • Investment — what you've been invoiced, split into setup and one-time, recurring, and messaging, plus your cost per delivered message and cost per response.
  • Send-by-send table — one row per send with its date, recipients, attempted, delivered, delivery rate, responders, opt-outs, and spend.

The single-send report

Every send name in your portal is a link — in Send History, in the Recent Sends list on your Texting page, and in the tables on the analytics page. Click the name to open that send's own page.

On that page, Download PDF sits next to Download CSV in the top right. The CSV is the raw recipient-by-recipient data; the PDF is the readable report.

The single-send report contains:

  • The message you sent, shown the way it appeared on a phone, with a note if it included a picture or video.
  • The top line — recipients, attempted, delivered, delivery rate, and responders.
  • A delivery timeline — deliveries stacking up minute by minute after the first one landed. Big lists deliver over a stretch of time, not instantly.
  • Delivery — the same outcome breakdown as the campaign report, for this send only.
  • Replies — responders, total replies, response rate, reply tone, and replies by hour of day.
  • Respondent tags — how the people who replied to this send are tagged: Voting For, Voting Against, Moved, your own custom tags, and not yet tagged. On a single-send report the percentages are of the people who replied, not of your whole list.
  • Opt-outs — how many people replied STOP to this send, and the rate.
  • Why messages failed — each failure category in plain words, with how many messages hit it.
  • Spend — what this send cost you, your cost per delivered message, and your cost per response.

Drafts don't have a report

A send that hasn't gone out yet has nothing to report on, so the Download PDF button doesn't appear on a draft's page. It shows up once the send has been released and messages start moving. Download CSV is always available.

What the numbers mean

  • Messages attempted — messages actually handed to the phone carriers. Recipients we skipped before sending — because they had opted out earlier, or the send was cancelled — are not counted here, so this is a true denominator rather than a list size.
  • Delivered — the carrier confirmed the message reached the handset.
  • Delivery rate — delivered divided by attempted.
  • Unconfirmed — handed off, but no delivery confirmation came back. Carriers don't always return one; these are not failures.
  • Skipped — opted out earlier — people on your list who had already replied STOP, in this campaign, before this send. We never text them again, and they're shown separately so they don't drag your delivery rate down.
  • Response rate — the number of distinct people who texted you back, divided by delivered. Counting people rather than messages means one talkative supporter can't inflate it, and STOP replies are excluded — those are counted as opt-outs.
  • Opt-out rate — people who replied STOP to this send, divided by delivered.
  • Reply tone — your replies grouped as favorable, neutral, or negative, so you can read the mood of a response wave at a glance.
  • Time to first response — how quickly people typically reply, shown as a typical time and a slower-end time.
  • Spend — what your campaign was actually invoiced, not an estimate.
  • Cost per delivered message — spend divided by delivered messages. It shows a dash until the send has been invoiced; a real number appears on the report once the invoice exists.

A few things worth knowing

  • Reports are generated fresh every time you click, so a report you pull tomorrow will include delivery confirmations and replies that arrived after the one you pulled today.
  • Both reports are yours to share — they contain your campaign's own numbers and no individual voter's phone number or personal details.
  • Replies by hour of day is the most underused number on the page. If your replies cluster at a particular hour, schedule your next send to land ahead of it.
  • If a delivery rate or failure count looks wrong for your list size, send us the PDF. We're looking at the same data and can tell you whether it's the list, the message, or something on our side.
