Finding Your Campaign Verify Token

The Campaign Verify token is the credential that proves to carriers your committee is a real, registered political committee. If your campaign has texted before — with us or anyone else — you may already hold one, and that changes which setup you need.

Where the token comes from

Campaign Verify (campaignverify.org) is the nonpartisan service that verifies US political committees. During verification, it checks your committee's details against FEC or state election-authority records and, once confirmed, issues a token tied to your committee. Carriers treat that token as the standard proof of political sender identity, which is why texting setup can't move forward without one.

What it looks like

The token is a single long line of text that begins with cv and contains several segments separated by vertical bars. It isn't a password, but treat it with the same care: copy the entire line exactly, with nothing trimmed off either end, or the carriers will reject it.

Where it goes

The compliance wizard has a Campaign Verify step — paste the full token there. That's the only place you need it.

If you don't have a token, choose the full setup ($140): the $95 Campaign Verify component covers running the verification for your committee, and the $45 component covers 10DLC carrier registration. If your committee already holds a valid token, the token-only setup ($45) skips the verification you've already done and covers just the carrier registration.

If you think you already have one

Tokens live in the Campaign Verify account of whoever ran the verification. Good places to look:

• The campaignverify.org account belonging to your treasurer, campaign manager, or consultant.
• The person or firm that set up texting for a previous cycle.
• A previous texting vendor's onboarding emails or account dashboard.

Expiration awareness

Campaign Verify tokens don't last forever — they're tied to your verification and expire, typically with the election cycle. An expired token won't pass carrier review, and the fix is re-verifying with Campaign Verify. If you're not sure whether yours is still valid, send it to us and we'll check it before you enroll, so you pick the right setup option the first time.
