Importing Contacts

How to upload and manage your voter contact lists.

You can import contacts into your text messaging campaigns using CSV files.

CSV Format

Your CSV file should include these columns:

  • phone (required) — Phone number in any standard format
  • first_name — Contact's first name (used for merge fields)
  • last_name — Contact's last name (used for merge fields)

Importing

  1. Go to your campaign's SMS section
  2. Click "Contact Lists" and create a new list
  3. Upload your CSV file
  4. Review the import preview
  5. Confirm the import

Opt-Out Compliance

Contacts who reply STOP to any message are automatically opted out and will not receive future messages. You cannot manually override opt-outs — this is a carrier requirement.
